South Shore F.C. start practising

August 20, 1892
The South Shore football team commenced practising on Saturday last, when a good number of players put in an appearance.

South Shore have signed the undermentioned for the season: – Parker (late of Blackpool), goal; Ed Naylor and Thomas Daley (of Higher Walton), backs; J. Baldwin (of Higher Walton), H. Boyes (of Skelmersdale), H. and J. Atherton (of South Shore) and Robert Walsh, halfbacks; W.P. Pratt and W.J. Westhead (of Fleetwood Rangers), W. Birchall (of South Shore), Billy Mather (of Higher Walton), H.J. Helliwell and A.L. Parkinson (of South Shore, late of Witton), forwards.

With these players South Shore ought to make a better show in the Lancashire League than they did last season.
