A powerful visit from Scotland

September 29, 1892
Liverpool v. Queen of the South Wanderers.

This important match takes place at Anfield-road this evening, the kick off being announced for five o’clock.

The visitors come with a good reputation.

They were winners of the Scottish Southern Counties Charity Cup in 1885, 1886, 1887, 1889, and 1892, and the contest will thus prove one of the most interesting, presumably, yet provided by the Liverpool Club.

Teams: –
Liverpool: Sydney Ross, goal; Andrew Hannah and Duncan McLean, backs; John Cameron, Joe McQue, and James McBride, half backs; Thomas Wyllie, Jock Smith, John Miller, Malcolm McVean, and Andrew Kelvin, forwards.
Queen of the South Wanderers: J. Collins, goal; D. Harding and James Glendinning, backs; J. Grierson, J. Craven, and John Glendinning, half backs; D. Bedford, C. Kennedy, J. Robson, G. Shankland, and J. Sharp, forwards.
