No more football on Kennington Oval

January 27, 1893
The football-loving public of England and Scotland will learn with astonishment and regret that owing to the determination of the Surrey Committee not to allow any more football upon their ground, Kennington Oval will not be available for the final tie in the English Association Cup or international fixture between England and Scotland. The Surrey committee have formally notified the English Association to this effect, so that this year the two great events under the Association code will be played in the provinces.
