January 30, 1893
Mr. Robert Hyslop, B.A., science and mathematical teacher in the Girls’ High School at Aberdeen, died yesterday at the residence of his father in Dumfries. Mr. Hyslop’s health gave way about the beginning of the year, and he was on his way to the Cape of Good Hope to recruit when his illness developed into meningitis, and terminated fatally.

He was an enthusiastic athlete, and was at one time President of the Aberdeen Football Club, of which he was one of the founders.

He was 34 years of age, and is survived by a widow and one child.
