Irish League XI to visit Anfield

November 11, 1895
In view of the Irish international League team passing through Liverpool on their way back home, the Liverpool executive requested the Irishmen to favour them with a fixture, and thus give the Liverpool public a chance of seeing perhaps about the strongest team ever gathered together by that country under Association rules.

The kick-off is times for 2.30, and the following is a list of the home players – Liverpool: Matt McQueen, goal; Archie Goldie and Tom Wilkie, backs; Bill Keech, Joe McQue, and John McLean, half-backs; Fred Geary, Jimmy Ross, Harry Bradshaw, Frank Becton, and Davie Hannah, forwards.
