The best performance of the season

If Liverpool had failed against the Arsenal as many expected, their chances of figuring in the test matches would have been slight. The win of Liverpool by two nil, however, on the ground of one of the strongest sides in the competition, gives the Northerners a rare chance. I consider the performance of Liverpool one of the best things done in the League this season. The forwards, especially Fred Geary, Frank Becton and Jimmy Ross, played a great game, and fairly beat down the strong Arsenal defence. It ought to be mentioned, however , that the Reds had to take the field without Joe Powell, their best back.
