Nuggets from Cricket and Football Field (October 17, 1896)

October 17, 1896
* Has Robert Neill, of the Liverpool Reserve, had a trial afforded him to-day? If so, his great fond wish is realised.
* Fred Geary assures us that he was never frightened so much at a football match as he was last Saturday. And so say all of us.
* James Henderson, who was with Liverpool a season or two ago, was expected to play in the centre for Fairfield against Nelson to-day.
* Liverpool has many good and keen supporters, but none who can back his opinion like Harry Newton, of a certain brewery in Richmond Row.
