Michael the “battering ram”

October 29, 1896
The introduction of Willie Michael and Robert Neill to the Liverpool team has not done any harm, both of the men having done credit to themselves and to the club. Michael, who was the “battering ram” of the Heart of Midlothian last season, was always a tough little morsel to deal with, and this some of the English League teams will find to their cost.

Neill, it will be remembered, played for the Hibernian a couple of seasons ago when only eighteen years of age, so that the “babies of the League” have made a fair purchase in both the Edinburgh lads.
