Nuggets from Cricket and Football Field (December 12, 1896)

December 12, 1896
* The appearance at Anfield last Saturday with the Fleetwood Rangers, of the once famous North End flier Jack Gordon, was an interesting feature, and recalled to the minds of the spectators many of the brilliant bits of play with which he was wont to electricity the crowd in the palmy days of North End.
* Frank Becton has received an intimation from the authorities of Liverpool to prepare himself for work in the ensuing matches of the season. Not to reopen the case again it is no harm to say that Becton has a grievance, and a very substantial one, too “Audi alteram partem.” (Kjell note: ‘listen to the other side’).
