Governed by a sense of the claims of the Hospital for Consumption and the Stanley Hospital, the committee of the forthcoming theatrical football gala on the Liverpool Football Ground have wisely determined to apportion the receipts between those two institutions, whilst arranging to give a substantial sum to the Actors’ Benevolent Fund and to the Music Hall Benevolent Fund.
The authorities of the two hospitals, which render so much service to the afflicted, must be grateful for this recognition of their work and that of the institutions under their control. Upwards of £500 was the outcome of last year’s gala, and there is a strong probability of this sum being exceeded this year.
