Liverpool’s Harry Bradshaw for England

For the first Association international match of the season, which takes place at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, on Saturday, February 20, the following were chosen to represent England against Ireland:
– John Robinson (Derby County), goal; William John Oakley (Corinthians) and Billy Williams (West Bromwich), backs; Bernard Middleditch (Corinthians), Tommy Crawshaw (The Wednesday),  and Ernest Needham (Sheffield United), half-backs; Billy Bassett (West Bromwich), Steve Bloomer (Derby County), Gilbert Oswald Smith (Corinthians), Harry Bradshaw (Liverpool) and Fred Wheldon (Aston Villa), forwards.
