Saturday, April 6 – 1897
After the match the Liverpool team, at least some of it, journeyed to Oldfleet, in Worcestershire, where the men will undergo a week’s special preparation in view of their English Cup tie at West Bromwich, and, judging from Saturday’s display, there appears ample scope for judicious work in this respect. A victory would do much to palliate the Saturday’s collapse. (Liverpool Mercury, 08-02-1897)
