Thursday, April 8 – 1897
George Allan, of Liverpool, who represented the Thistle against the Rose at the Crystal Palace, had a good name before he left for the Anfield club. He holds a Linlithgowshire badge, an Edinburgh Shield badge, and an inter-city cap. He has now been successful in crowning all these. (Dundee Courier, 08-04-1897)
