Jimmy Ross, the Burnley captain, has a record in the matter of Test match experiences. In 1894 he played for Preston North End v. Notts, and won. In 1895 he was in the Liverpool team, which was beaten by Bury; in 1896 he assisted Liverpool to regain their place in the First Division; a year later saw him unsuccessfully attempt to pull Burnley through, whilst this season he has led that team to victory. This is a unique experience, and probably will never be equalled.
