James McBride passes away


Thursday, May 25 – 1899
The death took place very suddenly yesterday  at his home at Manchester of James McBride, a well-known Association footballer, formerly of Renton, and who since coming south had been a member of the Liverpool, Manchester City and Ashton North End Clubs. Deceased was a clever half back, and once gained his place in the Scottish League team against England. (Evening Telegraph, 26-05-1899)
