Barnsley F.C. and their players

The players engaged for the coming year had a practice match on Saturday, and gave such a display that the spectators were quite of opinion that a good position will be taken in the coming season.

The players available include: Joe Greaves (goal), John McCartney, Tom Nixon, Hind, backs; Don Lees, Rodger Craven, King, Walter Hepworth, Tom Smith, A. Kilner, Harry Davis, all of last year’s team; and amongst the new players are Tom Gosling (Wombwell Town), Hebert Armson (Ogden’s F.C.), Thomas Little (Swindon Town), T.S. Brown (Liverpool White Star), Joe Eldred (Rossendale and Clitheroe), forwards; William Reid (Rotherham Town), Frank Pepper (Sheffield United Reserves and Newton Heath), Jack Foulds (Partick Thistle), J.W. Burrows (Owlerton), half-backs; Sep Atterbury (Loughborough), backs; and S. Alliington (Low Valley), goalkeeper. Other players are Jackson (Darwen), back; Flowers (Darton), half-backs; Lowe and Robert Lawton, from local teams, &c.
