If it true that Tom Watson has been offering a king’s ransom for Robert Hamilton, the gifted forward of the Glasgow Rangers, no one can blame him. His present crew could be thrown overboard without anybody saying that he had done anything wrong. The position of Liverpool furnishes a text for a lovely sermon on money and its uses, for here we have a club that is rich in funds and yet the team have lost 14 points straight off the reel. Ten and a half hour’s play for four goals! How much has each of these goals cost in salaries alone?
