Football League meeting (April 30, 1900)

Monday, April 30 – 1900
A meeting of the Management Committee was held at Preston yesterday, Mr. John James Bentley presiding. The apology from Grimsby to Mr. John Lewis was considered satisfactory. Derby County claimed £163 9s from Preston North End, being the difference in the gates this season and last, caused through Preston not fulfilling a League engagement through Cup ties. Preston were ordered to pay £90. Manchester City claimed £150 for the same cause, and were awarded £125. Wolverhampton made a similar claim of £100 from Sheffield United, and obtained the full amount, the United being informed that they should have consulted Rule 8. Chesterfield claimes six guineas expenses, and also further sum for loss of gate from New Brighton Tower, and were awarded £23 damages and expenses claimed. The annual meeting of the League was fixed for May 21st at Manchester.

W. McAuley, Walsall to Aston Villa;
John Malloch, Dundee to Sheffield Wednesday;
