Padiham v Liverpool Reserves


November 30, 1901
At Padiham. The visitors kicked off, Law sending in a good shot, which grazed the bar. The visitors now had a look in, Lowe having a shot from William White. Padiham now pressed, the visitors’ backs defending well. Walker scoring for Liverpool after 20 minutes’ play. Padiham equalised from a corner, and John Walker scored again for Liverpool, John Davies adding another.

Half-time: Liverpool, 3; Padiham, 1.
In the second half Padiham had a good chance, Law sending over the bar. The visitors played a good game, Lowe saving a grand shot from Davies. Liverpool were playing well, but shot rather badly, Hunter missing a good chance. Davies scored for Liverpool. The Padiham left now made a good run, Dewhurst scoring, giving Campbell no chance. Davies added another for Liverpool.

Result: Liverpool, 5; Padiham 2.
