Recovery for the Stoke players

January 7, 1902
Those members of the Stoke team who were poisoned by partaking of fish at Liverpool on Saturday are on the high road to recovery. Leigh Roose, Sam Ashworth, Billy Leech, and Mart Watkins were very ill on Sunday, but yesterday they were much better, and expect to be all right in a few days. The Stoke Club has had under consideration the question of an appeal to the League to consider whether, under the extraordinary circumstances, but nothing definite has yet been decided.
