Blackburn Rovers v Liverpool 1-1.
The Rovers, who had the advantage of playing at home, pressed at start, and Fred Blackburn struck the cross bar with a grand shot, then John Cox got through at the other end, but with a goal at his mercy put the ball out.
A quarter of an hour from the start the Rovers attacked spiritedly, and both the Liverpool backs miskicking Arnie Whittaker hooked the ball into the net.
Liverpool more than held their own in the closing stages, and Johnny Walker made the scores level. As this proved to be the extent of the registering, the encounter terminated in a draw of one goal each.
