May 29, 1902
Arbroath Football Club Committee have signed on William Strachan, the well-known goalkeeper, for next season Strachan played for he Maroons a few years before his departure for London, and during the past season, on his return to Arbroath, has played on one of two occasions. While in the Metropolis he appeared for two of the local League clubs, and only last season was asked to play for Queens Park Rangers.

Commanding capital height, Strachan is a clever custodian, and shines best when dealing with high shots. With William McKenzie also at their command for next season, Arbroath should be very strong in goal.
