The Chester Football Club will open their season this (Wednesday) afternoon in a match with a team from the Everton club. The Chester team will be chosen from the following: Ledsham (late of Melrose, goal), Stewart (late of Liverpool), Astbury (late of Rhyl, an old Chester player), Delaney, Barker, Cook, Turner (late of Liverpool Reserves, centre half), Hodnet (late of Oswestry), Cartwright (late of Ellesmere), Barnes (late of Earlestown), Broomfield (late of Oswestry), Copeland (late of Birkenhead), Miller and Griffiths.
Chester will play the first match of the Combination with White Star Wanderers next Saturday on the White Star ground. In the following week they play Crewe Alexandra at home and Witton Albion at home.
Kelly, of the White Star Wanderers, will in all probability be a member of the club, and the committee are in negotiation with several other players.
