Last night John McLean, left back of the Vale of Leven team, was signed for Liverpool. He is one of the of the best backs the Vale have produced for many years, and has been connected with that club for four years.
He is twenty three years of age, and weighs 12 stone. Partick Thistle and Heart of Midlothian were anxious to secure his services.
The terms are £3 10s per week. He was captain of the Vale team.

After refusing a number of tempting offers, John McLean, left back of the Vale of Leven team, has decided to leave the Vale Club, having signed on for Liverpool F.C. During his connection with the Vale Club, McLean never signed on, always playing as an amateur. He has been Captain for two years, and is 23 years of age.
