Billy McCracken, who played left full back for Ireland in all this season’s Association football internationals, yesterday signed on for Newcastle United. McCracken, over whom Glasgow Rangers got into hot water some time ago, is considered one of the best backs in the kingdom. He is a joiner to trade, and a Rechabite, is 22 years old, and 5 feet 10 ½ inches in height. It is stated he obtained a free transfer from Belfast Distillery, and the Newcastle United agreed to give him £600 down, £4 a week all the year round and allow him to work at his trade.
