Liverpool have been approached by Preston North End to play a benefit match at Deepdale for Rab. Howell. Formerly with Sheffield United, Howell rendered good service for the Anfielders at half-back and likewise proved a rare servant for North End until last season, when he unfortunately broke his leg. He is about again but will be unfit to turn out for active warfare for some time yet.
