The Albion’s team for the ensuing season is largely of the experimental order. In spite of the improved position the Club gained in the Southern League table last season compared with the previous season, the directors decided to make practically a clean sweep of nearly all the old hands, and sign on practically a new team.
Mark Mellors, who showed such fine form in goal; Arthur Hulme, one of the reserve backs; and T. White, of the forward line, signed for this season, and the manager, Mr. F.S. Walford, was given an entirely free hand in the choice of other players.
The men are steadily training under Joseph R. Clayton, who was formerly at Portsmouth, and has for several cricket seasons past looked after the Sussex County eleven.
