The Everton ground, at Goodison Park, is generally acknowledged to be one of the finest playing fields in the world. Indeed, its only serious rivals are the headquarters of Aston Villa, and the commodious ground at Crystal Palace. Opened by Lord Kinnaird, the Everton ground comprises 29,471 square yards of freehold. It cost £8,000, and is owned by the club.
