New trainer for the Bury club

April 27, 1907
Mr. George Coe, head trainer for the Bury Football Club, sent in his resignation to the directors this week, and it was accepted. The directors have since received an application from Mr. Charles Miles, the trainer of he Norwich City Club, and have appointed him to fill the post. Miles, who is a native of Hadlow, Kent, where he was born in 1868, has had a lifelong training as an athlete. As a gymnast he won no fewer than twenty-five out of thirty competitions in which he entered. For three years he held the post of gymnastic instructor at the Tunbridge Wells Grammar School, and then accepted the post of trainer to the New Brompton Club. After three seasons, he accepted a similar engagement with the Queens Park Rangers, with whom he spent another three years before going to Norwich City, two seasons ago. Miles, who is a teetotaler and a strict disciplinarian, has been very successful with the teams of which he has had charge. He will come to Bury as soon as possible.
