It has been freely rumoured that Burnley have secure Billy Dunlop, of Liverpool, and Robert Thompson, of Dumbarton. Inquiries, however, prove that neither of the men have been secured. In the case of Dunlop, the absence of a high official of the Liverpool club has prevented Burnley approaching the player, but something may be known today. Thompson is a back, who has a good reputation, but on Saturday, when some of the Burnley officials were watching him, he did not give a good account of himself.
