A new world record


June 2, 1908
The Cunard liner Mauretania, on voyage from Liverpool to New York, direct, has established a world’s record in ocean steaming. Although only using three screws, the fourth not having been replaced, after having met with an accident, she accomplished the passage in four days, twenty hours, fifteen minutes.
