Ernest Peake, one of Liverpool’s latest recruits, is a centre half from Aberystwyth. He played in one of the Amateur International events last season, and also figured in the International match v. Ireland.
Peake has just reached manhood’s estate, is well built, and stands 5ft. 8in. in height. He had gone so far as to sign a League form for Blackburn Rovers.
Another Anfield recruit is a player named Bertram Goode, an inside right from Chester. Goode was Chester’s best forward last season, and Chester, will be recalled, had one of the very best season, in 1907-8, during the club’s history. Much is expected from Goode.
