About a couple of hundred resignations have been received at the Union offices from players.
Many of these accompany the resignation with an expression of intention to re-join the Union in September.
It is also stated that a large number of noted players have been bold enough to stand by the Union. Among these men are the whole of the Manchester United Cup eleven and first team.
To a man, it is said, the Cup winners have refused to resign from the Union. There are men at Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, and other places who have not resigned also.
The FA Council meet this week to deal with the question. In official circles it is believed that the FA may suspend every player who has not resigned from the Union.
