The Anfielders will have one of the best Reserve teams that has ever worn the club’s colours, and there should be no question this year of descending into the Second Division. Last winter several of the displays of the side during the latter half of the campaign were distinctly feeble, and unworthy of the club’s reputation.
However, the many changes that have been made have been towards strength, and the Reds should occupy a high position in the results’ list next April.
This (Thursday) evening they are due at Tranmere to oppose the Rovers in a friendly fixture, and are hoping to introduce their recently acquired recruit – James Scott, of Ardeer Thistle – to their half-back line. We trust that the Anfielders will show their Second Division opponents something of their real worth.
