The “Reds” oppose Sheffield United at Sheffield on Monday in a League match, and the directors are taking advantage of the opportunity to give a trial to several of the new players.
Longworth and West are to form the back division, whilst Gilligan and Bowyer appear in the forward line.
It is just as well to give the players an opportunity of proving their worth early on in the season, and with two matches following each other so closely, a favourably opportunity present itself.
The team chosen is as follows: – Beeby; Longworth and West; Robinson, Harrop, and McConnell; Goddard, Gilligan, Parkinson, Bowyer, and Macdonald.
The team travel by the 11 o’clock train from Central Station, and the kick-off is timed for 3.30.
