The Anfielders were at Wavertree scoring goals galore against the Old Xaverians. Trials were given to some new players, a centre forward named Connell, and Thompson, inside left. At half-time the score was 5-1 in their favour, and the final figure were 9-2. Thompson scored three goals, Speakman and Connell each two, while Uren and Leavey had each one.
