On Monday further experiments are to be tried against Everton in the cup tie, the main one being that Harrop and Peake are in the middle line. Many believe that Harrop would adapt himself to the wing position, and I the move “comes off,” then I think the “Reds” will have little to fear with regard to the half-back line.
Then Uren is to be tried at outside left, a change which many believe ought to have been adopted earlier. Here is the side to meet Everton at Anfield on Monday: –
Liverpool: Sam Hardy; Tom Chorlton and Ephraim Longworth; Robert Robinson, Ernest Peake, and Jim Harrop; Arthur Goddard, James Stewart, Jack Parkinson, Ronald Orr, and Harold Uren.
Everton: William Scott; Bob Balmer and Jock Maconnachie; Val Harris, Robert Young, and Harry Makepeace; Arthur Berry, James Gourlay, Bert Freeman, Alex Young, and Bob Turner.
