Although weighing less than ten stone, Robert Smith Crawford is a capable back, and he makes up for the deficiency in weight by resource and cleverness.
A player of the Maconnachie type, great things were expected from this light-weight but he has not had too many opportunities.
On Monday against Everton he was not the least prominent of the backs, and at the present time he is the most suitable partner for Longworth.
He kicks with plenty of power, and can tackle with the best. Crawford’s weight is given as 9st. 10lb., and his height is 5ft. 8in.
