Neither Liverpool nor Everton have yet selected their team to meet their respective opponents, Preston North End and Bradford City on Saturday. The directors of each club are to meet tonight, when the choice will be made.
Both teams have difficult tasks on hand, and some care needs to be taken in the final selection.
Supporters of the Goodison club will be glad to hear the Maconnachie continues to make satisfactory progress, but as yet it is quite impossible to entertain the idea of his return to the playing field for some little time yet.
As a matter of fact the injury has been so serious that even now he is not able to put his foot on the ground, although his condition shows a great improvement since early days of his misfortune.
North End will be strongly represented against Liverpool. Having recovered from an attack of influenza McBride will again take his place between the sticks, while Mounteney resumes at inside left to the exclusion of J. Wilson.
The team will be as follows: – McBride, goal; McFadyen and Taylor, backs; Holdsworth, McCall, and Wareing, half backs; Thompson, Bannister, D. McLean, Mounteney, and Winterhalder, forwards.
