Gus Beeby transferred to Manchester City

May 12, 1911
To-day Manchester City secured the services of Gus Beeby, the Liverpool goalkeeper. At the close of the season 1910-11 Liverpool decided to part with the Derbyshire custodian who had proved such a capable under-study to Hardy.

He was placed on the transfer list, and to-day Beeby attached his signature to the necessary forms and signed for Manchester City. During his stay with the Anfield club Beeby improved to such an extent that he was confidently given his place in the first team as deputy to Hardy. Indeed he has earned the reputation of being a goalkeeper greatly above the average, and not unlikely to gain high honours.
