Since Alex Raisbeck returned to Scotland his position in the Liverpool team has never been properly filled, and the name of Bob Ferguson, of Third Lanark, is associated with the Anfield Road club.
Mr. John McCartney, of Hearts, was willing to pay a big sum for the transfer, but it is quite probable that Liverpool will pay out a fee which would be far in excess of any yet received by the Cathkin club for a player.
