Harry Lauder kicked off at the Liverpool practice match Saturday, played before 12,000 spectators, in golf fashion, that is, he hit the ball with a stout stick, as though driving. He was preceded by a piper on to the field, and after the start showed some inclination to join in the game, but was escorted off amid much merriment. Liverpool had six new men out, and all did well. The Reds (all old players) won a good game by five to the Whites’ three.
