Liverpool are not doing as well as they would like in the Central League and the directors are trying to remedy matters by playing Henry Welfare in the centre and Alex Thomson at outside right. The Scot has not yet settled down to the English style, and as he has plenty of dash and speed he is being tried on the wing to see if he makes any immediate improvement.
The team to meet Bradford City Reserves, who are making their first appearance at Anfield, is as follows: – Peter Malone; Frank Grayer, Sam Speakman; Robert Robinson, Ernest Peake, Donald Mackinlay; Alex Thomson, John Bovill, Henry Welfare, Arthur Metcalf, Hugh Lester.
