Gate receipt record at Anfield

February 22, 1913
Liverpool’s attendance was far from a record, but the receipts were a record for an Anfield match wherein Liverpool were playing. Of course the Newcastle – Fulham semi-final reached the two thousand pounds mark, but Saturday’s, which was £1,924, and represented a crowd of 38,803, which was admirably managed, and the secretary, Mr. Tom Watson, and all concerned deserve a word of congratulation upon the way they handled the crowd.
