Archie Goldies son for Glossop

August 29, 1913
Mr. Jimmy “Punch” McEwen, the Glossop manager, has made a couple of notable acquisitions to the team by signing J. Staniforth, centre forward, of Macclesfield, a speedy player who netted a fine crop of goals last season, and Alexander Goldie, an inside right.
Goldie is the son of Archie Goldie, who formerly played for Liverpool and Leicester Fosse, and a nephew of Jock Goldie, the ex-Fulham and Glossop player, now of Bury. Both players should greatly strengthen the Peak club’s attack.

NOTE: Archie Goldie did not play for Leicester Fosse, but his brother William did.
