The fine sporting game which Liverpool played in the cup final, and the sporting spirit they displayed after being beaten, has gained for the club more friends than ever. It is acknowledged on all sides that a mode pleasing spirit has never prevailed in the “fight for the cup,” and from Burnley downwards the Liverpool club’s praises can be heard everywhere.
Mr. Tom Watson, the manager of the Liverpool club, has received the following letter from Lord Kinnaird, president of the Football Association: –
