Soldiers’ day at Anfield


December 9, 1914
It is a soldiers’ day at Anfield this afternoon, when a match will be played between teams representing the 5ft. Lancashire Fusiliers and the 1st City Battalion King’s (Liverpool) Regimen. The teams are: –

1st C.B.K.L.R: Private T. Edgar (Ogden’s Athletic), Private C. Arnold (Harrowby), Private F Krohn (Hightown), Private L. Paterson (Ogden’s Athletic), Private H. Rawlinson (Ogden’s Athletic), Private T. Wood (Harrowby), Private L. Moore (Captain, Old Xaverians), Private P. Freeman (Wallasey Rovers), Private D. Anderson (Liverpool Ramblers), Private Robinson, Corporal A. Lovelady (St. Cleopas).

5ft. Lancashire Fusiliers: Private Morris, Private Scolds, Sergeant Howarth, Corporal Dickinson, Private Fish, Private Hill, Private Roberts, Private Regan, Private Parker, Lieutenant Laughlin, Private Dillon.

The gate receipts go to the War Relief Fund.
