Well-known referee dies


Tuesday, December 29 – 1914
The death occurred suddenly, at West Bromwich, yesterday, of Mr. A. Green (Alfred Green), for many years one of the leading Association referees.

He officiates in many Football League, Southern League, and Birmingham League matches and Association Cup-ties and was linesman in two Cup Finals.

At one time he was actively associated with the West Bromwich Albion Club, and was the first secretary and subsequently president of the West Bromwich Charity Football Association. For some years he sat on the council of the Birmingham Counties Football Association.
