A good example has been set to local footballers by Tommy Haughton, the town club’s custodian, and one of the finest players in the district. He is one of five sons, and has one brother in the 2nd Battalion (King’s) Liverpool Regiment, and another on the H.M.S. Hibernia,R.M.L.I.
Haughton has also joined the 2nd Battalion (King’s) Liverpool Regiment, and his action is all the more praiseworthy when it is remembered that his mother is a widow.
The football loving public of the district will join us in wishing Private Haughton good luck and a safe return.
