From Whitstable (Kent) I (…Bee) get this letter: –
“Through the kindness of Mr. T. Watson, of the Liverpool Football Club, we are able to spend our hours off duty in playing the good old game of football. He has presented us with one of Sugg’s balls and we wish to publicly thank the team for the very kind and thoughtful present. I can assure you the gift of a ball was very acceptable, but coming as it does from the famous home team, it is doubly so.”
T. Griffin, 8th (Irish) Battalion K.L.R. Machine Gun Section.
